It's now official . . . I'm the proud owner of a Kawasaki Drifter . . .and I've got the award to prove it.

Monday was a day of doing nothing apart from a bit of shopping.

Tuesday and I sorted out a replacement regulator for the Guzzi.

Apparently it was my "incorrect wiring" which damaged the first one - hmm, I don't think so.

I've rewired enough bikes to know what I'm doing - and it's only four wires to a regulator box.

Wednesday and I did a bit of sorting out - mainly the leaking garage roof.

Thursday and my voltage regulator arrived - so I fitted it - and the bike now charges . . .

. . .  for all of  an hour.  The regulator failed on the third or fourth start of the engine.

Phoned the supplier, Classic Dynamo and Regulator Conversions, and was told it must be my wiring because his regulators NEVER fail.

The bottom line is . . .  .I'm the best part of £200 out of pocket and I've had to fit the original mechanical regulator back on.

Friday once again I contacted Classic Dynamo and Regulator Conversions, this time I offered to trailer the bike over so that he

could see for himself that the wiring was correct.  "Oh I don't have vehicles here now" . . . well your website says you do.

Put the tank on the Guzzi and it promptly pissed its petrol out.  Ah well - shit happens.   Time to seal the tank.

Saturday went and picked up some POR - 15 tank sealant - that'll be a job for later in the week then.

Sunday and it was over to the Three Counties Showground for the "Malvern Festival of Transport".
